Yayank Comes Back!

Yamaha Byson 2003 (Speedking Garage - Bandung)

After a long hiatus from the custom scene, Susanto Gunawan, builder and owner of 909 Hot Matic from Bandung is back with the new shop, Speedking Garage. "And coincidentally in the garage, there was a Yamaha Byson. And so, I just tried to bring out some creativity and ideas that I have, using mostly used parts to build this bike, "said the man who is familiarly called Yayank.

As the concept, Yayank chose street tracker style used for daily riding in urban areas. Therefore, Yayank avoided doing heavy customization to the frame area. He only cut the rear sub-frame and changed with the classic and simple one, while for the main frame, he left it untouched.

"I never change the geometry of the chassis, as well as the suspension construction from the factory, so that the handling will not change, "explained Yayank.

As the tracker concept, the bike is made higher with the use of upside down suspension and aftermarket swingarm from aluminum materials, that have been customized.

"As for the tires, I use 17 and 19 inches on-road type," said Yayank who won the bikers build-off event 'RSD Challenge' by Roland Sands in Jogjakarta in 2013 (read: www.rolandsands.com/blog/479/challenge-rsd-challenge-for-oto-plus-readers).

Meanwhile, for a super minimalist body, Yayank tried to provide some interesting accents on the new old stock (NOS) Yamaha Byson fuel-tank. "I only gave the details of painting with Yamaha 60th anniversary, CNC cap and leather belt as tank holders," Yayank pointed out.

“Saya enggak pernah mau mengubah ukuran geometri sasis maupun konstruksi suspensi bawaan pabrik.
